Pentecost - Day Of The Holy Trinity

Pentecost
Pentecost - the Day of Holy Trinity Orthodox holiday. He called Pentecost because the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles was made on the fiftieth day after the Resurrection of Christ. Christian celebration of Pentecost is a double celebration: the glory of the Holy Trinity and the glory of the most Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles.
The first day of Pentecost, the Resurrection Church devoted mainly to the glory of the Most Holy Trinity and is now popularly called the day of Pentecost, and the second day Monday is the glory of the most Holy Spirit.
The celebration of the Church of the Holy Spirit begins, as usual, the evening service on Pentecost. In this liturgy read three touching prayers for Basil the Great, which confess their sins before the Father in heaven, and the great sacrifice of His Son, asking pardon. It takes from the Lord Jesus to give us the divine spirit in the field of education and the adoption of our people, and finally, to pray for the dead fathers and our brothers who rest with his Lord.
On the feast of Pentecost decorate homes and temples with birch branches and flowers. Decorating the temples and dwellings in the day with greenery and flowers, is a confession of life-giving power of the Spirit and devotion to Him the first fruits of spring.
